Engineering & Physical Sciences

Explore the many sides of engineering and technology, from designing and building physical systems to computer science, AI, and digital innovation.

The ProEd Approach

Students start by exploring the wider world of engineering and technology, from design and prototyping to coding and computational thinking. From there, they go deeper into their chosen area through hands-on projects and real-world, industry-led experiences.

What Students Will Experience

01

Explore the Fundamentals

Explore the principles behind engineering and technology through design, coding, problem-solving, and experimentation, learning how physical and digital systems are built and improved.

02

Experience the Profession

Work on practical challenges with engineers and technologists, from building and testing prototypes to coding, AI, digital fabrication, and industry experiences.

03

Put Learning into Practice

Take on a Field Project, develop ideas with professional guidance, and present the final work to a panel of external industry professionals for feedback.

Build the Case

ProEd Field Project

Build the Case

Students bring together what they’ve learned through an engineering or technology-based Field Project. This could mean investigating an engineering challenge and developing a proposed solution, or exploring a question in computer science or AI and developing a technical approach. With professional guidance, students develop their project before presenting it to a panel of external industry professionals for feedback.

What Parents Say About Our Programme

The programme confirmed exactly what I wanted to study. The hands-on labs and mentorship from real practitioners made the difference between reading about a subject and actually living it.

Now studying at a top UK university

I came in unsure if this was the right path for me. By the end of the two weeks I'd built something I was genuinely proud of, and it made my decision so much clearer.

Went on to study the same subject at degree level

The tutors treated us like we were already colleagues, not just students. That mix of challenge and support is what made the experience stick with me.
