What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Some keep the site working — remembering that you have already answered the cookie banner, for instance. Others let us count visits or measure our advertising. This page explains which we use and why, and how to change your mind at any time.
Your choice, and how we honour it
The first time you visit, a banner asks which categories of cookies you accept. Until you answer, nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set — analytics and advertising stay switched off rather than running in the background.
Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and rejecting costs you nothing: the whole site works either way. Your answer is stored for 12 months in a single cookie on your own device. Nothing about your choice is stored on our servers.
One thing worth knowing: closing the preferences panel with the close button is not an answer, so the banner will keep appearing until you press Accept All, Reject All or Save My Preferences. That is deliberate — we are not allowed to treat silence as agreement.
The categories we use
- Strictly necessary
- Needed for the website to work — remembering your cookie choice, keeping forms secure, blocking automated abuse. These are always on, because the site cannot function without them, and they are not used to track you.
- Functional
- Make features work properly, such as embedded videos and the booking calendar.
- Analytics and performance
- Tell us how many people visit and which pages they read, so we know what is useful and what is not.
- Advertising
- Measure whether our adverts worked and allow us to show relevant adverts elsewhere.

We also use Vercel Analytics to count page views. It is listed separately because it sets no cookies at all and never identifies individual visitors, so it does not need your consent.
