Future Filmmaker Summer Programme
Write, shoot and edit your own short film and learn to pitch it with confidence, at one of the world's leading film schools.
See what the experience is like

A closer look at filmmaking
Over nine intensive days, working alongside London Film School tutors, you will make two short films. The course is built on the approach course director Aasaf Ainapore uses on the BFI Film Academy, which gets first time filmmakers behind the camera quickly. In Week One you will shoot a short film entirely in camera, with every edit decided before you press record. In Week Two you will develop an original idea, pitch it to a panel of working film and television professionals during a visit to a professional production studio, then plan, shoot and edit it with professional camera, lighting and sound equipment. You will also learn to pitch your work to a live room, a core professional skill that complements filmmaking craft and strengthens university and career applications.
By the end of the programme, you will have made two short films, one shot entirely in camera and one fully planned and edited, and will leave with high quality material for a creative portfolio or show reel.
